Shelly Scientific is a Canadian manufacturer of laminar flow hoods and custom laboratory equipment serving primarily local customers since 2012. Our team of skilled craftsmen will turn your idea into reality. Our services range from modifying commercially available equipment to developing a fully working model of a new machine. Thanks to our combined expertise, we are able to complete projects of various complexities.
We provide clean air solutions to both small clinics preparing IV therapy and large facilities that need more powerful filtration systems. Our benchtop laminar flow hoods are ideal for clinics with limited space. Depending on the volume of your work, you can choose one of our hoods which range from the smallest model with a footprint of 270mm*470mm to a larger benchtop model of 700mm*500mm. We can build a custom hood based on the space you have available. Despite the small size, our smallest model is big enough to hold five IV bags.
We Manufacture Flow Hoods
While very few usable parts are actually made in Canada, we still choose to manufacture our hoods instead of simply reselling imported products like many others do. Most hoods sold in Canada are brought in from China, and to a much smaller extent, from the U.S. By the time they reach customers here, the prices are often several times higher than their original cost.
Although imported machines usually work just fine, many are not approved for use in Canada — and that’s not always something overseas manufacturers will point out.
When you buy from a local vendor, you gain real peace of mind. Warranty support, service, and post-warranty repairs are much easier and more reliable when help is close to home. That said, our machines are built for durability and long-term performance, so service calls are few and far between.
Our benchtop hoods are lightweight and easy to move around if needed. Even if you need to put them away in storage they can fold and take little space. Customer comfort is important to us. We make sure that our latest benchtop flow hoods produce as little noise a possible. This is very important for prolonged work where operator’s fatigue is a real issue.
